The Scout Troop

Scout

The Scout Troop is for boys and girls between the ages of 10½ and 16. We follow a programme called The Scout Trail, which is divided up into two parts, and both are equally important.

The first part, is called Advancement. This part of the programme is dealt with in part through Friday meetings, but more generally we complete advancement work through attendance at camps, and other events, where senior Scouts are given the responsibility of assisting the younger members to achieve their advancement work. As Scouts get older, they accept increasing responsibility for completing their own Advancement work.

Scout Advancement Badges: Pathfinder, Adventurer, Explorer and First Class

The second part, is called Interest Badges, and these are badges which the Scouts carry out at home, in their own time. The emphasis here is on the Scout choosing a badge according to his/her hobbies and interests, and then attempting the badge with little or no help from parents or Scouters.

Our Troop meets on Friday evenings, during government school terms, from 19:30 to 21:30.

For more information about the Troop, please email the Troop Scouter, called Corbie.
